Statment of Purpose

Pacific Passages reviews recent Chinese-language scholarship on China. The large volume of high-quality research on China in the humanities and social sciences being published in Chinese makes it no longer possible to ignore the work of our Sinophone colleagues. We set out to render accessible the many contributions this body of literature has to offer. This is consistent with our larger belief that it is essential to bridge the gap between these scholarly communities. It is our hope that this blog will serve as a starting point for more conversations and the exchange of ideas between scholars on both sides of the Pacific.
